Behind the Scenes of a Self-Employed Mama

I’d love to open this post with “My life runs on coffee & Jesus!” but honestly, the coffee wouldn’t even work if it weren’t for the Lord so really, it’s just Him! LOL I wanted to share a little about life this quarter! Thanks for reading and feel free to reach out anytime!

Featured Work:

I have been having such a blast with my current client projects! From websites, to Facebook & Instagram ads, newsletter creation, marketing campaigns and social media content - I truly love my clients so much! Here are two creatives / artists I have had the pleasure of working with recently: Kim Gentry Meyer & Ava Rowland.

Motherhood:

My boy has been growing like a WEED! He is just about 18 months old. I enjoy being a Mom SO very much - it’s incredible! Obviously, it comes with its challenges like the ever changing sleep schedules (schedules? No. 😂) and learning how to roll with the punches at ALL times! No day is the same, which on the days I am not tired is exciting, and on the days I am tired I pray even more LOL and try to prioritize some rest. If you’re thinking about having a baby…do it! I can’t even explain what a life upgrade it is!! 🤩 If you’re a Mom who’s nervous about not having time to run your biz or pursue your goals…it will look totally different but you WILL figure it out! 🤍

Ps, we have started our own little version of homeschool using this, which we are LOV-ING! https://thepeacefulpress.shop/products/peaceful-path-through-the-seasons-1

Music:

As many of you know, my husband Pete & I have a music project called “The Two Fake Blondes” and we finally got to announce the release date of our new single which is March 8th! Working on our calling to music while both running our own businesses AND being parents requires A LOT of discipline. A prayer we pray frequently is asking the Lord to multiply our efforts during the time that we do get to work on music and He always does!! Usually when you’re a creative, it * feels * best to wait around for a wave of inspiration to hit, but that’s not how it works when you have a toddler; you have to make the most of the scheduled time you have so again, this is where relying on the Lord comes in and having faith He’ll give us what we need, when we need it, during the time we have.

Health & Fitness:

The recovery from my emergency c-section has been long and frustrating. But I am so grateful to say that I have finally made wonderful progress and have begun HIIT & weight training agin! For those of you who have known me for a while, you know how much I love fitness, so this has been huge. The most challenging part is making sure that I am getting enough nutritionally since I am still nursing. The amount of sleep, water, protein and calories I need every day is next level! lol The times I am most overwhelmed or grumpy I usually just NEED FOOD and SLEEP! LOL So this is your reminder to check in on your baseline when you’re feeling that way, too. You may just need a nap and a big yummy meal.

Goal Setting Tip:

Recently, I wrote down my weekly and monthly goals for THIS season, I typed them up in Pages and emailed them to my Mom 😂 just as an exercise for accountability! I’ve found that in this season of life (and with becoming a Mom!) I really need accountability with my goals to stay focused. It helps so much! I’ve always been a self-motivated person but it sure makes a difference when you have people you can lean on for support. I would have sent it to my husband but he hears me talk about it constantly already. 😂 So if you’re feeling like you need help with accountability to take your goals to the next level, you probably do. Find a friend or a mentor you can “turn” your goals in to! Heck, if you need to, you can send them to me! 💯

Till next time!

Blessings, Hannah
