It's ok to just be ok

September is in flight and boy is it flying fast! This month has been full of big decisions, life transitions, and new opportunities. Anyone else feeling it?

If we zoom out a bit further, this entire year has sort of felt like that - it’s been a big one with a lot of waves and many beautiful sunsets. For some reason I still run off of the school year - September always feels more like the new year to me than January does. We only have about 3.5 months left until January 1st arrives, which is crazy, and I can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by. Wasn’t it just Christmas?

Anyways, today I just wanted to share this because I find myself back here on this thought on a weekly bases this year: sometimes it’s ok to just start over every day. 

This season in my life it’s felt like no matter how prepared I am for life each day I am having to make a conscious plan on how I am going to walk through it because life is full of surprises.

I believe that in certain seasons, sometimes it’s just ok to start over every day. It’s ok to have to try again tomorrow. It’s ok to give ourselves some grace and just do our best. Sometimes the only thing that gets us through the day is the vision of our comfy bed that floats through our mind or maybe it’s looking forward to relaxing and watching a movie that night. No victory is too small. No moment of enjoyment is insignificant. Sometimes it’s ok if the only thing we accomplish in a day is just simply getting though the day. Sometimes that’s totally worth a celebration.

If that’s you today know that you’re not alone, and know that seasons are just that...seasons. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is give ourselves a break; a break from self analysis, from work, from trying to be and do everything.

Sometimes it’s ok to just be ok. And today, I think I’m ok with that. 🙂
